Many employers have a Gift Matching Program, where they will match a charitable donation to a 501c3, and double or even triple the amount of your gift. Please check with your employer's Human Resources department to see if they can help. My name is Kionte and I have 1 year old siberian husky name Koja. I was injured overseas in Afghanistan sustaining Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, minor TBI and amputation to my right leg below the knee. During recovery of my injuries it was really difficult to adapt to normal lifestyle. I would get anxiety in large crowds making it hard to enjoy going outside with friends and family then coming home and suffer from depression. The Little Angels staff has been such a great help with me and Koja. Having Koja has been a life changer for me and people around me. I am now able to go downtown (which was the worst place for me) and enjoy myself with little concern of large crowds and passersby. Koja will rest his head on my feet which is a comforting feeling letting me know all is well at the moment. Koja has been the biggest and best impact on me and my recovery. This would never have been made possible without Katie and the rest of the Little Angels staff, so again I Thank You all for making this possible. Koja has been trained to alert and interrupt panic attacks, perform Deep Pressure Therapy, and help Brace for balance. |

| Donate Towards Psychiatric Service Dogs for Children Specially trained service dogs can help children with Autism, Aspergers and other psychiatric disabilities. These dogs are trained to interrupt destructive behaviors such as melt downs, or harming oneself. They are also trained to search for a child who has wandered away to keep them from harm and/or be tethered to a child to keep them from darting away and being hurt. These dogs are miracle workers, becoming a social bridge for the child so they can relate to the world on a new level. | Donate Towards Psychiatric Service Dogs for Adults Specially trained service dogs can help adults with psychiatric disabilities; such as PTSD for our soldiers returning from unthinkable situations in war. These dogs assist our brave men and women in a way that no other form of therapy can. Our dogs are trained to alert by pawing at the leg of their handler when they sense the chemical changes of a panic attack or flashback, helping the handler to refocus on the dog. These dogs are trained to go around corners ahead of the handler, and to assist with creating larger personal boundaries in crowded public places. With the dogs help our soldiers are able to fully return home. Click Here for more information on adults waiting to receive a psychiatric service dog |
