Getting in Trash, Stealing Food, Stealing Toys, Stealing Shoes

Once your dog is trained and ready to go home
. . . it's your turn.
When your dog has completed all training we will schedule a training session to
show you and your family how to reinforce your dog's training. An average of two
training sessions are needed for owners to feel confident handling their dogs with
their new training - but you now have free training sessions for life; anytime you
would like to schedule a session, we will be available to give you our undivided
attention. All sessions are private, unless a group class is requested.

Throughout your dog’s training he/she will be living in a home environment. Our facilities are one of the
best in San Diego. Each dog has their own individually designed, air-conditioned indoor run to recoup
from the day's play and training. Throughout the day they are trained in our house, and throughout our
five acres of forest. This keeps the stress levels down, and will keep your dog in a comfortable family
environment for the ease of training. A dog who is kept in a kennel with multiple dogs tends to have high
anxiety. Dogs in that type of a situation cannot learn as much as a dog who is relaxed and is enjoying
himself. Keeping them in a home environment also helps ease the transition from trainer to owner when
the dog is brought home after the training period.
While your dog is in training, she will first be trained indoors, away from distractions. Once the dog
understands the commands and follows through with them consistently, the training sessions move to the
outdoors, where we have five acres of varying landscape to allow for multiple distractions. Once your dog
has graduated from this level, she is taken on field trips to insure reliability no matter where they are or
what the situation.
All dogs are taught the following commands;
Heel: to stay at your pace while at your left side, in the heel position.
Sit: to sit exactly when you say.
Down: to lie down exactly when you say.
Stay: to stay for an extended amount of time, until released from the command.
Dog’s name: to look at you and pay attention.
Come: to come to you.
Wait: to wait in the general area and not to follow – this is more lenient than Stay.
No: to immediately stop doing something, or to correct a behavior.
Good Dog: a sign to continue the behavior (associated with praise).
Inside: to go inside crate, doorway, enclosure, etc.
Take a break: this releases your dog from training.
Quiet: to stop barking or whining.
Place: to go to their specific bed, crate, or blanket.
All dogs also go through behavior modification to stop any unwanted behaviors.
Once your dog is doing well, you and your family are shown how to properly reinforce the commands. The
trainer will continue working with you in a private setting, once a week or more, until all agree that the
dog is doing well with you.
After that there is a lifetime guarantee, which consists of free private sessions for life at our location.
